My name is Sarah Tumiya and I am in my sophomore year at the Stanford Online High School.
After moving from San Fransisco, I first joined New Horizon halfway through my kindergarten school year, and I graduated six and a half years later as a member of the Class of 2013. I will never forget the years I spent here. New Horizon is so much more than a school to me; it is my second home. It is a place where I can be who I am, an American Muslim, and be in an environment surrounded by people who are like me and understand who I am. Long after graduating from New Horizon, there are still many opportunities for alumni to connect with the school. The events and gatherings that New Horizon hold enforce the tightly-woven bonds between students, alumni, parents, and staff.
