At New Horizon, we recognize that the middle school years are a time for students to establish independence, question to deepen their understanding of complex ideas, and engage in self-discovery, self-advocacy, and social responsibility. With this in mind, New Horizon’s Middle School Program is balanced with the discipline and technological skills needed to meet the academic challenges ahead, the sensitivity needed to imbue students with a deeper connection to their faith, and the flexibility needed to allow for their own creativity and self-expression through electives and athletics. Our interdisciplinary Middle School curriculum builds on the foundational skills of elementary school for practical application in problem-solving more complex and real-world situations and in sharpening their critical thinking and communication skills. Students will actively participate in their learning through discussions, sharing of opinions and ideas, and articulating them respectfully to build their confidence and sharpen their leadership skills.
