Ways of Giving

Many generous families, organizations, and individuals help support the School through contributions of their time, hard work, and money. We thank all those donors and strive to make giving options both flexible and convenient.

Please note that your gifts to an Islamic school can fulfill your zakat obligations as stated in Dr. Maher Hathout’s article titled “Zakat, Perpetual Charity and Establishing Islamic Schools in America.” We also encourage you to consult with your attorney, accountant or tax advisor for information as to how these ways of giving affect your specific situation.

Cash, Checks, and Credit Card

Contributions may be made by check, cash, or credit card and are tax-deductible in the year the gift is made. Gifts may be made in monthly installments or through a pledge. All checks are made payable to New Horizon Irvine.

Gifts of Stocks & Securities

Contribute the fair market value of appreciated securities and avoid capital gains tax on the appreciated value of the stock. To find out more information, please contact the development office at (949)552-5411.

Gifts in Kind

New Horizon welcome donations of time, goods and/or services that abide by the school’s mission and current needs. Items may include furniture, books, software’s, as well as printing and design services.

Planned Giving: Bequeaths and Trusts

Planned Giving is a gift vehicle that allows many to donate via a trust, an annuity, or, most commonly, a bequest. Including New Horizon in your will can establish a permanent family legacy and provide tax benefits, a life income benefit, or other favorable estate arrangements. Your own tax advisor, attorney, or estate planning professional can help you determine the best way for you to make such a gift to our school.

Matching Corporate Gifts

Many companies offer matching gift programs that allow employees to double or triple their contributions to nonprofit organizations. Please use this link or checks directly with your employer.

Restricted Gifts

New Horizon Irvine occasionally receives gifts that reflect a specific interest of a donor and are restricted to a specific purpose. The School welcomes these gifts as long as they can further the School’s educational mission. The most common restricted monetary gifts go towards funding such interests as a special project, a specific curriculum area, or tuition sponsorship.
