Field Trips & Assemblies

New Horizon students supplement the classroom learning with regular field trips to the many resources that Southern California has to offer. Younger students usually visit Amy’s Farm, the Bowers Museum, and participate in the Trabuco Field Study Program. Upper elementary students often take advantage of educational programs offered at the Environmental Nature Center, California Science Center, Catalina Island, and Big Rock Creek. These trips allow students to see animals in natural habitats, participate in lab experiments, and see history come to life, providing hands-on demonstrations of concepts and ideas introduced in the social studies and science curriculum.
